His father is a clarinetist, his uncle Fernand a violinist and his uncle Nino a drummer. His grandfather, on his return from Italy, gave him a small piano accordion on which Claude played from the age of four. His uncle Nino takes part in numerous radio shows and accompanies himself on a guitar that Claude “snatches” from him every day on his way home from school. Self-taught, he composed his first songs, music and lyrics, satires inspired by this colorful Italian family. One memorable day, on the way to school, he came across a poster: “classical guitar lessons”, his journey as a musician began. Very quickly his teacher notices him; he declared to him: “Claude, you are capable of having a career as a concert artist, continue your studies but know that I will be there if one day you want to devote yourself completely to music” He experiences a decisive turning point when he listens for the first time both “Beware the gorilla” by Brassens and “Ne moi pas pas” by Brel, from then on, these two authors became his models. Out of respect for his parents (the father works in a factory and the mother raises her three children), he continued his studies until becoming an engineer at IBM. He is appointed to Marseille. Alongside his studies, Claude enrolled in a gym – high bar, parallel bars, rings – then the Greco-Roman wrestling club in Bagnolet and became Paris champion. A lover of sport and challenges in general, he was part of the winning swimming team in the four times 100 meter relay in Saumur. His fighting character led him to abandon his job as an engineer; Claude leaves Marseille, returns to Paris for the “beautiful eyes” of music to which he devotes 10 hours a day for 2 years without a day of respite. Life is not a long, quiet river. He teaches guitar at the Aulnay Conservatory but the hours of lessons, even supplemented by private lessons, generate insufficient income for his family which includes two children. He then created a business selling decorative items. His brother Bruno soon joined him and their complicity lasted around fifteen years. At this time, Claude, deprived of part of his reason for living (music), went through difficult times. During this period, Claude led two activities at the same time: The artistic creation of new decorative models (natural resin objects) and their marketing via gift stores and… music to which he devoted half of his days and part of his time. his nights. In 1994, he enrolled at the conservatory and took drums, vibraphone and percussion lessons for 6 years. He worked as an arranger and equipped himself with recording equipment and created his own studio. It was at the same time that he joined the Conservatory’s Jazz workshop directed by Jean Rotman. Faithful among the faithful, he has been playing for twenty-two years in the group that has now become a Jazz orchestra: The “JazzGang” which includes twelve musicians. In 2000, he decided to devote himself to his passion and try to make a living from it. even if it’s not easy. Starting with fifteen songs for which he created the lyrics and music, he began to perform in small venues and restaurants in Paris. In a few years, he wrote the lyrics and music for 120 songs whose varied styles surprise with their differences. We go from melancholy ballads to the craziest rhythms, from waltzes to rock, bossa nova or jazz. His words are sometimes tender, rebellious, naughty or daring, humorous, provocative. Claude plays with words, plays with words, plays on words, cheek to cheek with notes.
