The Wine Museum – Hôtel des Ducs de Bourgogne in Beaune offers a new fun and immersive activity: an escape game entitled “In search of lost wine”. This Wednesday, Victor, the host, was responsible for launching this game which takes place in the heart of the museum, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore the works and objects on display in an interactive way.
A fun and family quest
It all begins with the discovery of an old notebook in the museum archives. This notebook mentions that a bottle of Romanée-Conti, a precious wine, was locked in a safe place, until one day it could be admired by all. Visitors are now tasked with finding this bottle.
To do this, players must piece together a six-letter word by solving six puzzles presented in different rooms of the museum. Each solved puzzle reveals a mystery letter which, once all assembled, will form the key word allowing you to open the box containing the precious bottle of Romanée-Conti.
A sensory exploration
Visitors pass through different rooms, including the History room and the Vine Works room. During their quest, they are required to handle objects, make observations and stimulate their sense of smell with the aromas of wine. They will also have to replace barrel staves inside the circle, among other challenges.
This activity is designed to be fun and educational, providing an enriching experience for families and wine lovers. The “In Search of the Lost Wine” escape game transforms a visit to the museum into an exciting adventure where each participant can discover the history and secrets of Burgundy wine in an interactive and engaging way.
As part of Climate Month, this event takes place every Wednesday and Saturday until July 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
