The escalation of violence in the Middle East increased again on Tuesday October 1, 2024. In the evening, Iranian missiles targeted military bases and the Mossad in Israel, in retaliation for the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and that of Palestinian Hamas, Ismaïl Haniyeh. Shots which led to the closure of several airspaces in the region, particularly in Jordan, Iraq and Israel.

Consequences: several planes had to change route. As reported air plus newsas a security measure, several flights departing from Paris were diverted along the way.
Thus, a Paris – Bombay returned to Paris, another plane bound for Dubai finally landed at Cairo Same situation for a flight heading to Doha and a Paris – Kuwait journey finally ending its journey at Istanbul.
At Air France, for example, the following routes were canceled overnight:
– Dubai – Paris Charles-de-Gaulle
– Paris Charles-de-Gaulle – Abu Dhabi
– Paris – Bombay
Depending on the evolution of the situation in the Middle East, this type of disruption is likely to recur.
