The introduction of a road sticker in Belgium would be imminent, rejoices Walloon Minister of Mobility François Desquesnes.
After the installation of the Flemish government at the beginning of the week and the declarations of its Minister of Mobility, Annick De Ridder (N-VA)“the stars are aligned” for the implementation of a road sticker in Belgium, rejoiced his Walloon counterpart, François Desquesnes (The Engaged).
“This vignette is a major choice of our regional policy declaration which aims to put an end to an injustice: at present, the road network in the south of the country is only financed by the Walloons,” he recalled in the plenary session of the Walloon parliament, where he was questioned on the subject. “We obviously hoped that the other regions would move. The installation of the Flemish government leads to a convergence, a alignment of the planets and I can only rejoice about it,” added Minister Desquesnes.
“We already have experience that works with Viapasswhich allows us to perceive the rmileage charge for trucks in the three regions of the country. It is a technical and administrative tool available and on which we will rely,” he continued, without saying more about the terms of this future road sticker.
