Micronora 2024: six companies distinguished at the Golden Microns

Dto recognize cutting-edge innovations developed by several industrial companies in the nanotechnology, microtechnology and precision sectors. This is the objective of the trophies called the Golden Microns. The 2024 promotion was unveiled on the first day of the Micronora trade fair, which takes place at the Micropolis exhibition center until Friday, September 27, 2024.

This year, three Gold Microns, two Silver Microns and a special mention were awarded to the winners in total. This was in three categories: machines and capital goods; microtechnical components and subassemblies; intelligent systems & software. The prizes were awarded by a jury that included industrialists and researchers working in the microtechnology sector.

And the winners are…

In the category “Machinery and capital goods”three prizes were awarded. The Golden Micron was awarded to the Chiron company, for its Chiron Micro5 machining center. This center is composed of a UGV type spindle as well as excellent performance in terms of rigidity. This makes it possible to obtain high precision, to the nearest micron, and quality surface finishes.

The Silver Micron was awarded to the German company Nidec, for its “Cut and Weld System”. Included in an automatic Nidec SYS Inline-Vision Cut & Weld cell, this system is located between the press and the winder. It recognizes the nok parts by intelligent detection of the geometry, which allows the strip to be spliced together, without interrupting the press. And, thus, to easily correct defective parts.

In this first category, a “Special Mention” was awarded to the French company Laser Cheval, for its Quartz Géode. This production solution is made up of two parts: the Quartz, which performs laser micromachining or welding. This first part can integrate, at any time, the Géode palletizer. It is made up of 48 trays of three different heights, which supports all references of loaded parts.
