At the end of September 2024, a foal was found dead and a mare injured on a private plot located in a town in the Carhaix region, in Finistère. The mare was able to be treated. According to our information, similar injuries were noted on the two animals. The events allegedly occurred on the night of Monday September 23 to Tuesday September 24.
The act of privileged cruelty
A gendarmerie investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the mare’s injuries and the foal’s death. Still according to our information, if no hypothesis is ruled out, the act of cruelty is the preferred avenue to date.
