“You want, I can“, simply summarizes Philippe Pellizzari, manager of the Avenue brewery, in Avignon, evoking the genesis of the relationship of trust which was established with his apprentice.
The young Mohamed Lamine Touré is following a work-study professional baccalaureate training course specializing in cooking at the campus of the Avignon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and joined the brewery on a work-study basis in November 2023.
What stands out first is its history. Arriving alone in France in 2019, at the age of 15, he received the honorary prize for best apprentice 2024 catering specialty for the Vaucluse section of the Society of Members of the Legion of Honor. “The interest is to work with young people who have complicated, even difficult, stories, but who are motivated and want to succeed.“, explains the brewery manager. He is full of praise when asked to talk about the young winner.
Involved, willing and highly motivated
He is a young man who is just 20 years old, demonstrates will, involvement, motivation and a state of mind that his boss describes as impeccable. Although he remains humble and not very talkative, Mohamed Lamine Touré nevertheless proudly displays his medal.
His boss remains confident and is not worried about the professional future of the young Guinean he “trained in cooking but also in life in France and its habits and customs“.
