These last twelve months have been marked by the announcements of the cancers of Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton. “It was terrible (…) I am extremely proud of my wife and my father for the way they coped with this ordeal” said Prince William, adding: “But on a personal and family level, it was brutal.“
Generally very present, Kate Middleton disappeared from the media after Christmas 2023. In January, the palace announced her hospitalization for a “abdominal surgery“. At the end of March, she revealed in a video that she had cancer, without specifying its nature. According to comments reported by the BBC, Thursday, Prince William assures that his wife, today, “doing very well”.
The King also returns
From then on, his public appearances became very rare. On June 15, she took part in the birthday parade of King Charles III, waving to the crowds from the balcony of Buckingham Palace alongside the royal family. At the beginning of July, she was present at the Wimbledon final, where she presented the trophy to the winner, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. Prince William had therefore adapted his calendar due to his wife's illness.
The United Kingdom was also worried about the health of Charles III, whose cancer was announced in February 2024. At the end of October, the king undertook his first trip since the announcement of his illness, traveling to Australia and then to the islands Samoa for a Commonwealth meeting. According to British media, doctors allowed him to suspend his treatment for the duration of this trip.
