this totally crazy easter egg almost was in the Marvel movie

Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool & Wolverinerecently revealed that a totally crazy easter egg related to 20th Century Fox had been considered, but ultimately not chosen. A connection that would have been totally mind-blowing:

Deadpool & Wolverine : huge success

Released on July 24, Deadpool & Wolverine proved to be a huge success for Marvel Studios. Directed by Shawn Levythe feature film grossed more than $1.3 billion of box office revenue. An impressive score especially for a film to classify. The feature film is also the R-rated film that brought in the most money in the history of the box office.

A success which can also be explained by the nature of the film. Deadpool & Wolverine is a feature film that pays homage to the films and characters of the late 20th Century Fox. As a reminder, the famous studio was bought by Disney a few years ago. Shawn Levy took advantage of this merger to bring back many characters from another time. The opportunity to meet famous figures from franchises like X-Men, Blade or Fantastic Four.

A crazy easter egg!

In addition to this homage to Fox's Marvel characters, Deadpool & Wolverine could have contained other easter eggs for other 20th Century Fox films. As a reminder, most easter eggs for Fox take place in The Void, a desolate place where all hasbeen figures are sent to languish for eternity. A vast and inhospitable world first introduced in the series Loki. A world full of easter eggs started with Fox logo itself which failed in The Void.

Deadpool & Wolverine

According to Shawn Levy, another major easter egg related to Fox almost appeared in the film. This is the ship Titanic, who could actually have been in Deadpool & Wolverine. In any case, this is what the director declared at the microphone of Entertainment Weekly :

We were going to put the Titanic on. There are easter eggs centered on Fox. I think the Nakatomi Tower from Die Hard is in the movie too. As well as the CN Tower.

Titanic

Levy also responded to a rumor started by fans. The latter thought they saw a ship from the film Master & Commander (2003) with Russel Crowe. The director of Deadpool & Wolverine wanted to debunk this rumor:

No it was a generic ship. We just changed the color and made custom sails. It's just a Deadpool & Wolverine ship.

The Titanic would therefore have been an incredible easter egg. A fight between Deadpool and Wolverine on the ship James Cameron would have been an unforgettable sequence. As for Nakatomi Plaza, personally, we didn't spot it. And you ?
