The 82nd Golden Globes ceremony reserved a triumph for two major films: the French musical comedy “Emilia Pérez” by Jacques Audiard and the American drama “The Brutalist” from Brady Corbet. These two works stand out as the big favorites for the next film awards season. “Emilia Pérez”, which tells the story of a Mexican drug lord who changes sex, won four prestigious awards: best musical, best foreign language film, best song for “El Mar”, and best supporting actress for Zoe Saldana. The actress, moved to tears, warmly thanked the film team and particularly the French director Jacques Audiard.
For its part, “The Brutalist” distinguished itself by winning three major awards: best dramatic film, best director for Brady Corbet, and best actor in a drama for Adrien Brody.
Surprises in the interpretation categories
Several actors created a surprise during this ceremony. Demi Moore won the award for best actress in a comedy for her role in “The Substance,” expressing her emotion after 45 years of career. Sebastian Stan was rewarded for her performance in “A Different Man,” while Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres received the award for best actress in a drama for “I’m Still There” by Walter Salles.
Success of television series
In the television categories, the Japanese historical series “Shogun” dominated the evening by winning four awards, including best drama series. “Baby Reindeer” also distinguished itself by winning the award for best mini-series and that of best supporting actress for Jessica Gunning.
