The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and its former president, Laurent Wauquiez, appealed the decision of the Lyon court to make public documents concerning the summit dinner organized in 2022. The Council of State rejected the appeal.
In a decision rendered on December 30, 2024, the Council of State rejected the appeal of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region regarding the obligation to make public certain documents relating to the “summit dinner” organized in June 2022.
According to La Tribune de Lyon, the LR majority must provide several documents, including the list of guests.
The “summit dinner” controversy
In May 2024, the Lyon administrative court required the Region and its president Laurent Wauquiez to make these documents public. A decision which the Region had appealed.
As a reminder, this famous “summit dinner” was organized in Beaujolais and would have cost nearly 100,000 euros.
The socialist, environmentalist and democratic opposition group in the Region has been asking, since the revelations, for the documents to be transmitted.
