The flight was scheduled to serve Barcelona from Paris this Friday, January 3.
“Emergency landing of an Air France A318 plane”titled a video seen many times on social networks. He had barely taken off from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport on Friday January 3 when an emergency declared around 9:45 p.m. The aircraft had to turn around and then land quickly. “The crew of flight AF1448 decided to return to base after 17 minutes of flight due to a cabin pressurization malfunction”confirmed AirFrance on X.
“In application of the emergency descent procedure, the crew activated the drop of the oxygen masks in the cabin because the automatic release altitude of the masks had not yet been reached”explained the aviator. He landed at 10:12 p.m. and the flight, like his return, was canceled. Customers were then picked up at the airport before being rerouted to Barcelona. No injuries were reported.
Pressurization makes it possible to fly at high altitude while avoiding the physiological risks linked to the drop in atmospheric pressure. His loss could have been dramatic for the passengers. “Air France regrets the inconvenience caused by this situation and recalls that the safety of its customers and crews is its absolute imperative,” concluded the company.
