The MASI, flagship index of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, posted an increase of 11.07% to 14,773.19 points (pts) in the second half of 2024.

At the end of the 124 sessions of this semester, the MASI.20, which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, advanced by 11% to 1,193.02 pts and the MASI.ESG, index of companies which collect the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, took 6.88% to 1,034.74 pts. For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, the thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, climbed 27.21% to 1,536.39 pts.

On a sectoral level, the “Transport Services” (+71.79%), “Transport” (+57.84%) and “Health” (+52.24%) indices achieved the best performances. On the other hand, the “Telecommunications” (-9.38%), “Leisure & Hotels” (-6.65%) and “Pharmaceutical industry” (-6.44%) sectors showed the strongest declines. In the process, exchanges reached more than 57.67 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the central market (Shares) and dominated by transactions on Attijariwafa Bank (10.65%), BCP (9.73% ) and Akdital (7.56%). Regarding the market capitalization, it amounted to more than 752.4 billion dirhams.

In values, Mechanical achievements (+272.09% at 400 DH), Jet Contractors (+228.7% at 1,890 DH), Alliances (+95.12% at 480 DH), Sodep-Marsa Maroc (+71.79 % to 536 DH) and CTM (+57.84% to 1,097 DH) recorded the largest increases. On the other hand, the biggest declines were recorded by SMI (-16.13% to 1,971 DH), AFMA (-11.78% to 1,101 DH), Maroc Leasing (-10.73% to 370 DH), Auto Hall (-9.59% to 66 DH) and Itissalat Al-Maghrib (-9.38% to 82.01 DH).
