Jean-Paul Louis has been appearing before the Saintes Assize Court since Thursday for having attempted to kill his daughter and his wife in March 2021. After two days of hearing, 20 years in prison were requested against him.
Jean-Paul Louis is 58 years old today but he was 55 at the time of the events. Since this Thursday, he has been appearing before the Saintes Assizes for attempted murder of his daughter and attempted murder of his wife. The case dates back to March 11, 2021 when this resident of Vaux-sur-Mer learns that his wife wants to leave him.
The accused will declare : « I was stunned, I didn’t understand what was happening, I didn’t eat anymore, I didn’t sleep anymore, I wanted to kill myself.»
A few days later, on March 17, 2021, he went to the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer equestrian center and attacked his 12-year-old daughter with a kitchen knife, she was hit in the chest. The mother tried to intervene and he injured her in turn.

During the psychological and psychiatric assessments which took place this Friday morning at the Saintes courthouse, the President of the Court recalled that the accused was not suffering from psychological disorders.
20 years of criminal imprisonment have been requested against Jean-Paul Louis by the attorney general. Here are the reactions of the victims’ lawyers :
