Since Monday June 3, 2024, demolition work on the former Lion d’or hotel-restaurant has begun in Tinchebray-Bocage (Orne). This causes inconvenience for pedestrians but also for motorists and traders, in the immediate vicinity of the construction site. Indeed, the crossroads in question is the heart of the town, a strategic passage for everyone.

The demolition phase, the most penalizing

On February 20, the municipality invited residents to a presentation of the work and the different phases which will last until February 2025. Like any construction site in a city center, there are unfortunately nuisances for local residents but also for traders. This remains a complicated time for the population, when certain streets are closed in particular. Especially since we are at a very busy intersection which serves all the services , specifies Josette Porquet, mayor. Companies are doing their best to limit these nuisances. The current demolition phase is the most penalizing and we are well aware of this.

It is rue de l’Industrie which, for the moment, is closed. A pedestrian crossing has been put in place. Depending on the progress of the work, Grande-Rue should in turn close.

At the press house, for great ills, great remedies

Located in the other corner of the intersection, the press center, run by Caroline and Thierry Lair, is directly impacted: We are experiencing a normal and expected drop in attendance given the current situation .

From Monday June 10, there will be one cinema ticket to be won per day for two weeks: This is an operation that we take responsibility for. We want to win cinema tickets to reward the loyalty of our customers who are experiencing traffic and parking difficulties at the moment. .

Participation is limited to one ticket per day and per person, for any purchase. There will therefore be a daily draw: We will continue the operation for longer depending on the progress of the work,” let the owners know.

At the same time as this deconstruction, construction work on the hall will begin but should cause less inconvenience to residents.
