The resident of the place had the fright of her life very early this Sunday, June 2, in Mont-sur-Marchienne.
Around 3:45 a.m., a motorist who was leaving the A503 to take the Chaussée de Thuin did not turn at the right time. The place is very accident-prone and has been the scene of the same type of scene on several occasions…
For reasons still unknown, the motorist drove straight on, leaving only a very high curb and the facade of a house as the only obstacles.
An autopsy carried out after the death of Camille, 94, beaten by another patient in a hospital in Montignies-sur-Sambre
The car in the house
Following the impact with the curb, the vehicle took off and finally crashed into the facade of a house. The shock was so violent that a good part of the vehicle ended up in the living room of the house, where a lady and her dog were sleeping!
According to our information, the vehicle ripped out a stove, fortunately not connected to gas, and even pushed the bed of the resident, waking her up with a start.
The Marcinelle firefighters, under the orders of Lieutenant Malagnon, intervened to extricate the driver, as well as marking the area. The state of health of the motorist is not yet known.
The Charleroi alderman for Mobility explains about paid parking in the evening: “It is on a case by case basis, if there is a request from traders”
A stability engineer was also dispatched to the site because the house presented a risk of collapse.
