In January 2025, the Costellois Guidon d’or will organize the French FSGT cyclo-cross championship.
This sporting event will be held for the first time in Roannais and will take place on January 18 and 19 in Perreux on the Chervé high school site.
“It’s a large organization that will require the mobilization of around a hundred volunteers,” says Jean-Michel Martin, president of Guidon d’or. “We already have the agreement of several high schools for their participation as well as the Saint-Etienne cycling club. »
The Chervé high school (landscape section) will have the mission of tracing the 2.8 km circuit. The Lycée Étienne-Legrand du Coteau will be requested for the construction (carpentry section) of a wooden footbridge measuring 13 m on the ground, 2.50 m wide. Finally, the Carnot high school in Roanne will be responsible for transporting the work.
For this championship, around 600 participants are expected from clubs across France.

The competition will take place over two days with 15 races in all categories.
In order to test the circuit, once completed, a dress rehearsal will be organized on site on Monday November 25.
Internship. Like every year, at the beginning of March, 15 participants (road and VTC) did a one-week training and leisure course in Spain at L’Estartit.
