Two men and a woman were found dead in an apartment in a working-class district of Bastia, the Bastia prosecutor told Agence France Press on Monday evening, specifying that a fourth individual was seriously injured and that his vital prognosis was engaged.
Alerted Monday at 6:40 p.m., “the police were led by a resident to an apartment where three dead people and a fourth injured were discovered,” Jean-Philippe Navarre, Bastia public prosecutor, told AFP.
The events took place in a district south of Bastia, in an apartment located on the ground floor of a residence.
An open investigation
The three deceased people are two men and a woman while the injured, whose life-threatening prognosis is engaged, is a man, who was evacuated to the hospital, said the prosecutor who went to the scene.
“A person in the victims’ entourage was arrested for checks,” added the prosecutor in the middle of the night, without further details.
“The investigations do not allow at this stage to specify the origin of the deaths”, indicated the magistrate in the evening.
“We are waiting for the forensic doctors to be able to determine the causes of death, advance the circumstances of the facts and determine the identities of the people,” added Jean-Philippe Navarre. An investigation into intentional homicide was opened and entrusted to the Bastia judicial police.
