The Central Swiss Yodeling Festival has been launched
The 65th Central Swiss Yodeling Festival was launched on Friday in Sempach with the first performances of alphorn and Büchel blowing.

Among those present at the official opening and flag handover was Lucerne’s government president Fabian Peter. “Singing, yodeling and celebrating gives you energy,” the active yodeler and main ambassador of the festival is quoted as saying in a statement from the organizing committee. Mayor Jürg Aebi presented the organizing committee president Toni Bussmann with the golden key and with it “power over Sempach for three days.” Bussmann expressed his gratitude with obvious anticipation of the major event: “We can finally show what we have worked hard for over the past two years.”

Further betting presentations will be given on Saturday, followed by a free night, including a live broadcast of the European Championship round of 16 in the Jodlerkino.
Sunday begins with a ceremony, followed at 1:45 p.m. by the big parade with 44 numbers. (zim)
