There are few surprises: Sir Rod Stewart announces 25 songs, a two-hour playing time, and thanks to the projection of the titles, you always know where you are and who is being honored. Because that’s what remains from this big concert: the old rocker doesn’t put himself at the center, but companions and friends from earlier times. He makes no distinction between the living and the dead; at one point you see a picture of Tina Turner (“It Takes Two”, which he once performed with her), Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac (she died the year before last), Stewart’s blues idols from the sixties or Elton John (who he apparently doesn’t speak to anymore, but played soccer with in the 1970s).
