In 2003, Beyond Good & Evil was released and unfortunately did not meet with the expected success. However, the years have restored its letters of nobility to this game, which is now considered a classic by many players. However, as for its sequel, fans have been waiting for it for 15 years now. But finally, we have some news.

Finally some information

Although it had already been a while since we had any news from Beyound Good and Evil 2, Ubisoft finally seems to have decided to step up the pace on the subject. A few days ago, they had already made reference to this long-awaited game through a message on their blog. The development studio revealed the release date of Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Editionto which they added some interesting lines: “Discover Jade’s childhood and son lien avec Beyond Good and Evil 2 thanks to a new treasure hunt across Hillys”.

Since then, fans couldn’t stop raving about itleaving developers with no choice but to speak out. To do so, a simple tweet did the trick:

Yes, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in developmentand we can’t wait for you to discover more about Jade’s past in the 20th Anniversary Edition!

An announcement that may seem pleasing, but which Internet users have fun with. Many joke that they won’t hear from him again for years.

A long and laborious development

As a reminder, Beyond Good and Evil 2 was made official in 2008, more than 15 years ago now. Following that, all kinds of twists and turns have continued to follow one another. In 2010, a cancellation was mentioned. In 2012, development was confirmed. In 2015, IGN revealed that Michel Ancel, the game’s director, put the title aside because he is too busy with other projects. A whirlwind of information that will end in 2017, with the presentation of the game at E3 during the Ubisoft conference.

Since then, the aura surrounding the game hasn’t really changed. While many are waiting for the title firmly, others are convinced that it will not be released anytime soon (if ever). However, the production promises very good things. A prequel to the first opus, the game will mix action and adventure in a universe dominated by an alien race. The Ubisoft title is committed to offering us a superb open world experience through space, without loading times. You will then be free to discover and explore various planets as you wish. So let’s hope that the game sees the light of day in a few years and that the studio can deliver on all these promises.
