AMD announced the version 3.1 of its scaling technology FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), marking a significant milestone since the previous version. Launched in March 2024, FSR 3.1 brings significant improvements in image quality and introduces new featuresincluding a native anti-aliasing (AA) supersampling mode, comparable to NVIDIA’s DLAA.

What’s new in AMD FSR 3.1

Unlike FSR 3.0 which still relied on the scaling of FSR 2.2, FSR 3.1 incorporates image quality improvements for each performance preset. It also introduces new presets, including native AA mode. This mode renders the game at its native resolution while using the upscaler to enhance details, providing advanced anti-aliasing.

AMD announced that FSR 3.1 will be implemented in six new titles:

  • Horizon: Forbidden West
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • God of War: Ragnarök

These games will benefit from the new capabilities of FSR 3.1, promising better visual quality and increased performance.

Expansion de FSR 3.0

AMD also highlighted that FSR 3.0 is now available in over 60 games, including those mentioned above that will use FSR 3.1. Some of the recently added or upcoming titles include:

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • EVERSPACE 2
  • Gray Zone Warfare
  • House Flipper 2
  • NARAKA: BLADEPOINT

  • Concord
  • Creatures of Ava
  • Dungeon Stalkers
  • Farming Simulator 25
  • inZOI

With the arrival of FSR 3.1, AMD continues to improve its upscaling technology, providing gamers with significant improvements in visual quality and performance. The integration of this technology into popular and upcoming titles further strengthens its presence in the gaming world, thus rivaling competing solutions in the market.
