Twenty-five members of the “Friends of the Priory” association gathered around vice-president Robert Teyssèdre to plan the events and the opening of the site to the public for the 2024 tourist season and address projects mentioned during the general meeting in February. Opening to the public, for free and open visits, will take place every Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., from May 12 to September 15, the hours will be staffed in turn by volunteers from the association.

Visitors will be able to admire three exhibitions: more than 60 photos which retrace the restoration of the Priory, around ten models by Pierre Douziech and 50 objects relating to wine or vines. Welcoming groups for guided and commented tours lasting approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, will take place by appointment only (06 30 64 65 35) minimum. 10 people, a contribution of two euros per visitor will be requested.

On June 8, Christophe Ribeyre will premiere his play “L’ivresse du général”, a dialogue between Malraux and General de Gaulle. Registrations on 06 30 64 65 35 or [email protected]

Two concerts will take place in September, Saturday the 1st with Vivaldi and the 28th with Fabrice Eulry. The association’s meal will take place on Saturday June 29 around couscous, this meal is open to members, as well as their family and friends, maximum 60 people (on registration) and at cost price. After the meal André Bernard will recount the construction of the Millau viaduct (20 years this year) with numerous supporting images.

Opening and activities for heritage days on September 21 and 22. As traditionally, at the beginning of October, an end-of-season meal will be offered to all those who have held the summer hours. Various subjects were discussed, the creation of a website, the creation of an email address, the repair of the staircase leading to the dormitory room or the acquisition by the municipality of 50% of the shares held by the SCI Palayret. The meeting was closed with a friendly drink.
