Are you worried about your health? From June 3 to 4, the Unisanté bus will offer the population a 30-minute assessment in front of the Avenches Town Hall, then from June 5 to 6 on Place Général Guisan in Payerne. The cost of a session will be 50 francs.

The appointment can be made online (bus.unisante.ch) or by telephone at 021 545 24 63 by anyone over 18 years old. It will first include a series of analyses, including cholesterol levels, diabetes (for those over 40), as well as a measurement of blood pressure and body mass index. This first phase will last 15 minutes and will be followed by around fifteen minutes of personalized advice.

The action was implemented to detect cardiovascular diseases. In Switzerland, they are the leading cause of mortality, representing 30% of all deaths. According to Unisanté, “each year, more than 30,000 people suffer from myocardial infarction or a stroke.”

And according to the university center for general medicine and public health, “a large number of these accidents could be avoided” by improving certain lifestyle habits. Quitting smoking, eating a balanced diet or moving around can, for example, make a difference.
