First heckled for his nonchalance then adopted for his rides which electrified Sclessin before being sold to when he had inherited the armband, Aron Donnum left no one indifferent at Standard.

The 4.5 million raised in the operation were a lifeline for the club’s finances, Toulouse does not seem to regret the investment either: Donnum quickly established himself as a starter.

But the Norwegian international does not always stand out only from a sporting point of view. During a turbulent Coupe de match against Hauts Lyonnais (Nationale 3), the former Standard player put his hand behind his ears to calm the local public after the insults coming from the stands. Still quite a nice response but one that still got our neighbors talking.

Donnum will never give up

“Why did I do that? And why not? We played on the worst pitch I have seen in my entire career, against a team that showed a lot of aggression. They played with a lot of hardness, which wasn’t clean, we didn’t feel safe, and the fans booed and called us names throughout the match, as usual, but in this small stadium you could hear them more than in the big ones. stadiums” he explains to France Bleu.

Aaron Donnum finds that this goes too far: “The supporters can say what they want, it has become normal to insult the players, we receive a lot of negative things, and we can’t say anything. We see it clearly, as soon as I celebrated, it was highlighted, I was criticized for it. I find it very strange basically, we can never express ourselves, and yet in this case I didn’t even say a word. When we are insulted, we cannot respond, even if you want to, that’s the rule, so I at least wanted to celebrate in my own way.”
