Bun (3): unlike his teammates, he did not start the year in the best mood. If he makes an unorthodox save from the chest against James, he misses with an unauthoritarian and poorly felt exit on Blas' equalizer. His ordeal continued in the second half with this shot from Assignon which he put back at the feet of Truffert. Decisive against Blas, but faltering in his kicking game. He wasn't there.
Mendy (5): back after almost two months of absence, he solidly defended his right lane but was timid in his use of the ball, except for a closed angle attempt at the end of the game.
I appreciate it (6): he too was leaving the infirmary. The Burundian was invaluable in the air and brought great serenity to a rearguard that was finally replenished.
Abdelmonem (6): concentrated in his positioning and quite sovereign in the duels, he was able to forget the last catastrophic outings (before his calf injury), despite a little waste on the restart.
Bard (5): he especially tried to defend well, especially venturing into the Rennes camp at the end of the first half. A match without false notes, even if the entire Nice left side suffered from the discrepancies between Assignon, James and Blas.
Boudaoui (7): sanctioned with a yellow card in the 10th minute, he did not panic, far from it, strong in recovery and never stingy with projections. Despite an immense burst of energy, he was still at the forefront at the end of the match but Mandanda's cross deprived him of a second goal this season.
Ndombele (7): after a first attempt that was a bit too long, he delivered a perfect opening for Guessand to open the scoring. His technical ease was once again evident in a match where he also stood out with a large number of ball grabs. Good Tanguy.
Guessand (8): he ended the year 2024 on his knees. He attacked 2025 with legs of fire, which exploded Faye several times, and maximum efficiency, as on his goal, the seventh in L1 this season. What can also be said of his offering for Laborde at the end of an action where he insolently deposed his opposite number. Replaced by DANTE (90'+4), celebrated with a nice ovation for his return.
Bouanani (4): good intentions, application in defensive work but he also made too little difference to really weigh in this match. Too bad he was a little short and outplayed by Assignon on a cross from Guessand just before half-time. Replaced by CHO (70'), restless.
Diop (7): his efforts in pressing were rewarded by this missed recovery from Mandanda, which he took full advantage of to score his fourth goal of the season. Technically clean and intelligent, it is becoming indispensable. Replaced by MOUKOKO (85').
Laborde (6): little in sight until then, he appeared at the right time to enhance Guessand's pass and adjust Mandanda with a beautiful acrobatic half-volley just before the break. Replaced by ROSARIO (70'), sent off severely for a high foot in added time.
Coach (8): a first success in 2025 thanks to a first period at a high level and a second managed with maturity.
