Novak Djokovic, who had right knee surgery three weeks ago, is well in the Wimbledon table and will be seeded N.2 with Alexander Zverev and Hubert Hurkacz in his half of the table, according to the draw made on Friday.

The 37-year-old Serbian, in search of an eighth trophy on the London turf to bring his record of Grand Slam titles to 25, was injured in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros at the beginning of June and had to withdraw before his quarter. He was subsequently operated on in Paris on his right medial meniscus, but his participation at Wimbledon was very uncertain.

Seeded No. 2, the 37-year-old Serbian will have Alexander Zverev and Hubert Hurkacz in his half of the draw.

At the top of the table, world number one Jannik Sinner and his great rival Carlos Alcaraz (3rd), winner last year in the final against Djokovic, could face each other in the semi-finals.

Djokovic, seeking an eighth trophy on the London grass to extend his record of Grand Slam titles to 25, was injured in the last 16 at Roland Garros in early June and had to withdraw before his quarter-final.

He was subsequently operated on in Paris on his right medial meniscus, but his participation at Wimbledon was very uncertain.

The latest images of his training on the grass, notably against Sinner on Centre Court on Thursday, with a flexible knee and elbow pad, were however encouraging.

Another unexpected presence was that of Andy Murray, who had surgery for a spinal cyst last week.

His warrior mentality has once again taken over his body and the 37-year-old Scot will indeed play, one last time, the Major on grass, which he has won twice (2013, 2016).

He will face the Czech Tomas Machac (38th in the world) in the first round.

Having already played with a metal hip since 2019, he is expected to retire after the Paris Olympics this summer.
