Mujinga Kambundji failed to achieve a third continental medal in the 100m in Rome after silver in Munich in 2022 and bronze in Amsterdam in 2016. The Bernese, who ran in 11”15, finished 8th of a final won in 10”99 by the favorite Dina Asher-Smith.

Star of Swiss athletics, Mujinga Kambundji was certainly able to compete in his fifth continental final in a row in the premier discipline.

But, after setting her best time of the year in the semi-finals despite a hesitant start, she was unable to pull out all the stops in the final. She tried everything, even causing a false start which earned her a yellow card.
