a Ligue 1 offer for Andy Delort!

Hérault SC, currently last in Ligue 1, has sent a formal offer to repatriate Andy Delort (33), now striker for Mouloudia d'Algiers, the newspaper reveals Competition. Could this proposal mark the striker's return to ?

A special link with Montpellier

Andy Delort, who grew up in Sète, in the same department as Montpellier, maintains a special relationship with the Hérault club. During his adventurous career – 13 clubs to his credit – Montpellier remains the team where he was most successful: 106 matches and 47 goals. Leader on the field and appreciated by the supporters, he left his mark on his time at the MHSC between 2018 and 2021, despite some extra-sporting deviations.

His adventure at MC Algiers, which began last summer after a short stint in Qatar, allowed Delort to reconnect with the supporters Algerians. The striker, 2019 African champion with the Fennecs, had chosen to join his mother's country to breathe new life into his career. Attractive with his combativeness despite modest statistics (10 matches and 3 goals in the league / 0 in 5 Champions League matches), he was able to establish himself as a starter in the current third in Algerian Ligue 1.

MC Alger could end up there

For Montpellier, looking for reinforcements to avoid relegation, the return of Delort would be a godsend. The 33-year-old striker would bring experience, leadership and extra soul to a team in difficulty. The determination of president Laurent Nicollin to bring him back testifies to the value that the club places in Delort, six years after his departure.

On the Mouloudia side, the Montpellier offer represents an interesting financial windfall. However, some sources speak of a loan rather than a direct transfer, which would change the situation. At 33 years old and with mixed statistics in the Algerian championship, a return to Ligue 1 française is a sporting opportunity that should no longer present itself often for Fennec…

A difficult choice

Saturday, during the trip against the Young Africans (0-0), which allowed his club to qualify for the quarter-finals of the African Champions LeagueDelort could then have played his last match in the colors of MCA. But uncertainty remains: President Hadj Redjem must decide in the days to come.

The final decision, expected this week, will decide whether the story between Delort and Mouloudia continues, or whether the striker will decide to re-cross the Mediterranean, and write a new chapter in his favorite club.
