For their return to competition, the Greens signed their first success of the year 2025! In a match between candidates for the podium, the Stéphanois were able to gain the upper hand over OGC , the team against whom they conceded a draw last September (0-0). Thanks to many efforts and maximum intensity, Frédéric Dugand's boys scratched many balls, pushing the visitors to make mistakes. It was also on a high recovery that ASSE managed to open the mark. Following good pressing, Nadir El Jamali crossed in front of the cage. On the lookout, Issam Cheikh came to place his head (ASSE 1-0 Nice, 27e).

In the second half, the Greens managed to double the lead. After another successful pressing, Paul Eymard concluded a good Saint-Etienne movement (ASSE 2-0 Nice, 58e). Enough to secure a precious success which allows ASSE to take three points from the leader and leave Nice, its opponent of the day, at a reasonable distance.

The coach's reaction

It was a good match, rejoices Frédéric Dugand. We knew that Nice was a talented team, the game plan was to go after them and use density to recover balls quickly. There was a real riot of energy from the players who broke our records for distance covered in a match this season. We did good things forward, combined play. I saw a certain pleasure in playing together! Congratulations to the players!
