In public space, Art is not always delicate, and even if it is, the manner in which it occurs is often seen as the doing of the prince. What if we did it differently? This is what the New Sponsors offer. Born in France in the 1990s, the approach dares a more participatory and democratic way of giving birth to art. It has spread to other European countries, and as far as Cameroon and Chile, today exceeding 400 orders. In Switzerland, the association of New Sponsors is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
At the origin of the works (essentially plastic arts but also films, music, shows) we find the commission of a group of people. They live in the same neighborhood, the same village, are part of a socio-cultural community, or even live, learn, work together in a school or an EMS. They address the New Sponsors with a common concern as much as with a desire for art.
