The value of the 5 gram gold bar is estimated between 440 and 460 euros depending on the evolution of world gold prices.

There will be one winner per bakery in this competition which lasts until January 31. The draw for the winner will take place in February.

Around forty bakeries, in partnership with the Comptoir national de l’or, are participating in this promotion in France.

“To participate, simply go to a partner bakery and purchase a cake. Registration can be done by scanning a QR code on the cake bag or on a flyer” explains the Comptoir national de l’or.

At the end of January, a draw will take place to determine the lucky kings or queens of the pancake, rewarded with an ingot.

In Occitanie, two bakeries and pastry shops are participating in the event.

This royal and advertising initiative revives a tradition from the 18th century, when gold coins were slipped into the wealthiest families as a bean.

In 2023 and 2024, the same operation, with an authentic gold coin as a gift and already this famous 5 gram ingot (23.3 mm long by 14 mm wide) was organized, making dozens of winners and therefore ‘happy.
