If oil prices varied very little in December (+ 0.43%) for unleaded and -0.89% for diesel), the parity still works against the euro (-1.66%) impacts global trade, resulting in an increase in fuel prices.

But the most painful bill for the people of Reunion will undoubtedly be that of the price of the gas bottlewhich goes from 15 to 18 euros due to the end of aid from the Departmental Council on January 1st.

The price of the 12.5 kg bottle, before local aid, also increases by 1.20% compared to December 2024, going from €20.88 to €21.33. The contribution maintained by the Region will partly cushion this increase.
