A little air of competition was blowing in the stands of the Deutsche Bank Park stadium in Frankfurt am Main. Thursday June 20, England faced Denmark for the group stages of Euro football 2024. The English team was able to count on the encouragement of Prince William and that of Denmark on those of its king, Frederik with her daughter Princess Josephine.

The two royals were seated not far away in the stands to attend the meeting. It was England who opened the scoring thanks to their captain Harry Kane. A goal which made the Prince of Wales jump with enthusiasm. Morten Hjulmand equalized the score a few minutes later, enough to delight the Danish monarch this time. The meeting ultimately ended in a draw and it was with a handshake that the prince and king then went their separate ways.

William, President of the English Football Association

Before their departure for Germany to compete in Euro 2024, Prince William visited the Three Lions. In his capacity as president of the English Football Federation, the heir to the throne wanted to send them his encouragement… and give them advice, on the part of his son, Prince Louis.

“I was on my way to school this morning with the children and I asked them what I should say to the England team today,” Prince William explained. “The best advice I’ve received is that you should eat twice as much as usual,” he continued, before adding: “I think maybe you should take my youngest’s advice with tweezers.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are also keen on football. The eldest of the siblings is often seen in the stands with his father, especially when the Aston Villa club, the duo’s favorite team, plays a match. For her part, the little princess supports the Lionesses, the women’s football team.
