After Hangover 2 and Father Stu, the two stars team up again for High Risk Robbery, but this time, Mel Gibson will not appear on screen.

Lately, Mark Wahlberg multiplied family comedies, chaining Family Plan et Arthur the King for streaming platforms. But this summer, the actor Transformers et No Pain no Gain will return in two action films: The Unionwhich he will share with Halle Berry on Netflix, and Flight Riskwhich is due out in theaters this fall.

Titled High-risk flight in Frenchthis is the new achievement of Mel Gibsoneight years after his war film You will not kill. The two stars know each other well: in 2017, Mel played Mark’s father in the comedy Very Bad Dads 2then they met again in the drama about faith, Father Stuin 2022. This time, however, Gibson will not appear on screen.

Blood Father marks the return of Mel Gibson

High risk flight will follow federal agent Madelyn Harris (played by Michelle Dockery of Downton Abbey), tasked with escorting Winston, a criminal and informant (Topher Grace, from That 70′ Show or Blackkklansman), to New York to testify against a mafia boss. On board a small plane, they will have to fly over Alaska. The flight starts off smoothly, but very quickly, the pilot Daryl Booth (Wahlberg) turns out to be a dangerous hitman…

In the USA, Flight Risk will be released on October 18th under the Lionsgate banner. In France, it is Metropolitan FilmExport that will distribute it in theaters, but we do not yet know its release date. After this action thriller, which promises to be in the tradition of tension films on board an airplane (Air Force, Wings of Hell, Mayday…), Mel Gibson must reunite with Jim Caviezel for the sequel to The Passion of the Christas well as Danny Glover for Lethal Weapon 5Following the death of director Richard Donner, who had directed all the episodes until now, he will be in charge of directing it himself, in addition to returning to Martin Riggs’ costume.
