Zack Snyder is over the moon thanks to this deal with Netflix. He had the right to complete freedom in the editing of the film Rebel Moon. The second opus comes out in a few days, however, he prefers to talk about his Director’s Cut.
Rebel Moon, a science fiction film exclusive to Netflix, will see its second part released this Friday, April 19, but Zack Snyder is not talking about it. The director prefers to talk about the film that will come after this: his Director’s Cut. He indeed communicated in an interview that an agreement with Netflix had been made. Her baby will be entitled to a longer and more mature version.

An unusual pairing
Rebel Moon Part 1, released on December 15, 2023 and directed by Zack Snyder, was not really unanimous. Its second part arrives in a few days, but although it is expected, its director has already moved on. His Snyder’s Cut Rebel Moon will be completely free! No restrictions on time, script or editing, the filmmaker can do what he wants. In addition to affirming that this film will be longer and more mature, he tells us this:
To be honest, the most rewarding part was probably the deal I made with Netflix. They are great partners (…) Length is not a problem. Calibration is no problem. Everything I have been able to do is a dream come true for any filmmaker, having complete freedom of action is a good thing.
A genius editor
Zack Snyder is a true artist. Each of his creations is unique, but his Director’s Cuts still stand above his other films. Justice League was not very popular upon its release, unlike its extended version released four years later. The film was completely different from its original version. Darker, less funny, Zack Snyder’s vision was more precise, which appealed to fans of the universe. His penchant for creativity suggests that a Snyder’s Cut for Rebel Moon is an excellent idea, which will improve the reputation of this universe shallow or unoriginal according to some.
That said, Let’s first see how the Rebel Moon adventure will end this weekend. The second part comes out this Friday, April 19 and is expected to last two hours, much less than what Snyder will do with his next original creation. Well, this is just a guess…
