FLASH FM – Corrèze: Series of accidents reported on the A89 on January 4

This Saturday, January 4, 2025, freezing rain will have caused some damage in Corrèze. Indeed, early in the morning, 2 road accidents occurred on the A89 motorway, which was very busy before the end of the Christmas school holidays. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in these two accidents.

Two accidents involving heavy goods vehicles

Shortly before 8 a.m., an accident occurred in the - direction (West-East), near the town of Combressol. The accident involved a heavy goods vehicle, against 2 light vehicles. As announced by the Corrèze Gendarmerie on social networks, “luckily, no injuries” were reported. However, significant damage to the safety rails was reported. Traffic was disrupted throughout the day, notably causing a 4km traffic jam.

Subsequently, another accident took place, near the town of Maussac, this time in the Clermont-Ferrand Bordeaux direction (East-West). A heavy goods vehicle left the road. During the emergency intervention, another heavy goods vehicle hit the fire brigade vehicle on the emergency lane. Once again, miraculously, no injuries were reported. Traffic was able to move on a single lane while the repair work was carried out.
