His name is Gabriel. This is the first baby born at the L'Aigle maternity hospital (Orne) in 2025. This little boy was born at 3:37 a.m. on New Year's Eve. But in respiratory distress, he had to be transferred to University Hospital where he was cared for for 48 hours. Fortunately, Friday January 3, the child was able to find his mother in L'Aigle. Under the influence of this somewhat shaken arrival into the world, the mother preferred to remain calm.

The last of the year is a boy

This first January saw another birth. That of Swae-Leea little boy. He and his mother are doing well and are resting in the maternity ward.

A continual fall

This week has been busy in the maternity ward. Even if the birth toll for 2024 is down slightly with 303 births in L'Aigle compared to 317 in 2023, 376 in 2022 and 354 in 2021. But this slight decline must be put into perspective since overall, in , the birth rate is declining in 2024. In comparison, the maternity ward of L'Aigle is suffering, it , a drop below the national average.
