Two crazy drivers caught speeding at over 180 km/h on a snowy road in Ariège

Last week, the Ariège gendarmes carried out winter checks on the Ax-les-Thermes chaining area. Their mission is to ensure that drivers are equipped to handle snowy roads.

Deep under the snowflakes

But instead of careful, chained vehicles, they intercept two speeding cars. The first motorist, traveling at 158 km/h, was stopped in Perles-et-Castelet. A few minutes later, a second driver was flashed at 181 km/h on the same portion of the national 20. All this on a road limited to 90 km/h and in snowy weather.

Behaviors that go against the grain of caution

In these delicate weather conditions, where the roads are slippery and visibility is reduced, driving at such speeds is reckless. The two drivers, now without a license, will undoubtedly have plenty of time to reflect on their recklessness during the holidays.

Law enforcement officials point out that caution is essential, particularly in winter. This arrest, although spectacular, is a reminder of the risks incurred for oneself and other users.
