The Vendée Environment and Food Laboratorydepartmental council service based in La Roche-sur-Yon, offers a well water analysis campaign.
Recommended analyzes
“If you drink the water you draw from your well, regular analyzes (at least every year) are strongly recommended to ensure good health quality,” indicates the laboratory.
This is why, between January 13 and February 7, 2025the laboratory offers a complete analysis at a preferential rate increasing to €69 instead of €93. A price that includes administration fees and a water analysis excluding the glyphosate option. For the latter, you must add €63.96 (instead of €91.20).
Pesticide research
The analysis will include glyphosate, but also AMPA, its degradation product, and glufosinate. “These compounds are persistent in the environment. These are tracers which allow us to know if the water potentially contains other pesticides,” explains the laboratory. Glyphosate generally comes from the use of Round Up.
Several collection points for samples
The samples can be taken directly to the laboratory in La Roche-sur-Yon (before 3:30 p.m. Friday).
Other collection points are planned in the department on specific dates:
at the town hall of Montaigu-Vendée January 14, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
at the headquarters of the community of communes of Country of Saint-Gilles Croix de Vie Agglomeration January 20, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.,

Of the sampling kits are available in the communities mentioned above, as well as at the laboratory which reminds that “the deposit must be made on the day of sampling” to ensure a compliant analysis.
