Following insults in the middle of a match, at the beginning of November 2024, of one of its players by members of the opposing team, the FC Vay Marsac (Loire-Atlantique) denounces recurring discriminatory behavior observed during competitions, recalling fundamental values of sports practice.
Loire-Atlantique: a player insulted in the middle of a match
A player from Football group Dresny – Plesse – Vay – Marsac -Guenrouetwas insulted by players from the opposing team during a match which took place at the beginning of November.
As she did not report this abusive behavior to the referee during the match and only after it, the two teams were summoned at the end of the latter to Loire-Atlantique football district.
In the absence of evidence, word against word, the incident was ultimately not punished.
The club president denounces a spirit of provocation
FC Vay Marsac brings together 300 licensees et has 40 players :
“Football is a space where we learn to respect each other […] unfortunately certain discriminatory attitudes persist in the world of sport” we can read in the club press release dated November 28, 2024.
“Discrimination, whether based on gender, skin color, religion, sexual orientation or any other criterion, is contrary to the values we defend.”
Regis Vicetthe president of club FC Vay Marsacdeplores a bad state of mind.
“These are recurring behaviors that sometimes dissuade parents from enrolling their children in training. We try to be educational, when others create a bad atmosphere during matches, in a spirit of provocation,” he remarks.
