The coastline is placed on yellow alert – waves and submersion – from midnight this Sunday, January 5.

Météo has placed the Gard coastline on yellow alert for “waves and submersion” from midnight, this Sunday, January 5, 2025 and until Monday, January 6. From midnight, the height of the waves could reach 3 meters then 3.90 meters in the morning and decrease from this Monday noon.

The Gard prefecture calls for caution. It is recommended not to travel by the sea. “If necessary, it is advisable to travel with caution by limiting speed and not to enter roads exposed to swell or already flooded.”

Boaters are advised not to take to the sea or practice water sports and to check the mooring of boats and equipment on board. Swimmers, divers or walkers are also asked not to go into the water.

Residents must secure objects sensitive to the effects of wind, protect their property likely to be damaged by waves and monitor rising water levels.
