Janaína Lima had the toilet and two sinks removed from her office that she had installed when she took office eight years ago.

Janaína Lima did not accept her defeat. The 41-year-old politician was not re-elected to her position as municipal councilor in the city of Sao Paulo (Brazil). She had to leave her position at the beginning of January, taking the toilet and two sinks with her. She had them installed in her office eight years ago, reports the BBC.

CCTV cameras filmed employees in his office removing facilities put in place when he took office eight years ago. Images of one of Janaína Lima's employees carrying the facilities were also posted online.

Common toilets for his successor

“I decided to donate to the chamber the equipment that I acquired with my own resources”she said in a statement published on X, following negative reactions on social networks. “Clearly neither I nor my advisors need a toilet”she added.

She also said she followed advice from the legal department, which advised that all personally installed resources should be removed. To Brazilian media G1, she claimed to have left a glass partition and industrial-style lamps to her successor, Adrilles Jorge.

During his inauguration last Monday, Adrilles Jorge told G1 that his team would “use shared toilets” until the situation is resolved. “I visited the office and thought the architecture was great. But it took away everything”he said.
