The Blue Jays are likely to make some trades at the deadline. And all indications are that those trades will be to say goodbye to some players at the end of their contracts.

That’s what Bob Nightengale thinks, who believes the club will want to keep its stars, but will put its rental players on the market: Yusei Kikuchi, Yimi Garcia, Danny Jansen, Kevin Kiermaier and Justin Turner.

But does that mean these will be the only players discussed? At the moment, it is still early to determine all of this. There are still a few weeks left to decide.

However, if the club continues to play the way they are right now…

In the bullpen, it’s unclear if the club would have any big players to trade. Yimi Garcia and Jordan Romano are currently injured… Erik Swanson has lost his bearings… Tim Mayza has been DFA’d…

But there’s still Chad Green.

He’s one of the club’s most effective relievers and even though he won’t be a free agent at the end of the season (he’s in the first year of a two-year, $21 million option) , he could be exchanged.

And if he is, the Yankees could be in the mix.

The Yankees need help in the bullpen and they know Green well. Now that he’s healthy, Brian Cashman could make a move to bring him back, knowing full well how he can handle the pressure in the Bronx.

If Green ever were to be placed on the market, the Bombers wouldn’t be the only ones calling Toronto. But it will still be something to follow in the coming weeks.

  • Despite this, Vladdy expects to play tomorrow.
  • And to think that instead of extending his contract, the White Sox want to trade him…
  • He will return by the end of the season, if all goes well.
