The lack of nurses and doctors is forcing the CISSS de la Côte-Nord to reduce services at the mother-child centre and pediatrics at the Sept-Îles Hospital, as well as the Forestville emergency room during the month of July.
From July 6 to 15, deliveries will be possible at the Sept-Îles Hospital, but the nursery and pediatric intensive care services will be reduced.
Newborns and children requiring private monitoring will be transferred to another hospital. Women with a high-risk pregnancy will be medically assessed and transferred if necessary.
Pediatrics will also be closed from July 6 to 9.
No newborn or child from outside the region will be admitted to the Sept-Îles Hospital.

During these periods of discovery, the CISSS invites the population who needs to consult a doctor to go to the nearest emergency room, either in Baie-Comeau or Les Escoumins. Ambulance services will remain available to respond to emergencies.
Further service changes may occur in the coming weeks.
