Boxing, mountain biking, archery, wheelchair rugby, skateboarding, etc… there were many activities this Sunday June 30 on the banks of Vienne in Limoges on the occasion of the “Olympiads”, a day of intergenerational practice.

“Hello. Can we try?” Does everyone need to stretch their legs with 26 days to go until the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris?
In view of the agitation on the banks of Vienna this Sunday, we are tempted to answer in the affirmative.

The City of Limoges organized its “Olympics on the banks of Vienne. “A free event, open to all, to encourage people to get moving,” insisted Eric Teulière, member of the City’s Sports department. A day which falls within the framework of the promotion of physical and sporting activity, the “great national cause”, and which allows everyone to get moving. »

And the edges of Vienna were, as the sun broke through, invaded. Sophie, who came alone on the advice of her doctor, tried her hand at rowing: “It’s a first on the water. It’s great, the atmosphere is nice, but after the rowing machine, I take it easy. »

More than thirty sports to try

Alain, for his part, let the wild beasts loose for a mountain bike test. “Victor and Thomas (his “very sporty” sons) wanted to move a little. We came to see what they could try, if they had a revelation for a sport,” explains the father with a smile.

Many families, juggling from stand to stand, and checking the boxes of a busy schedule, were present. Around thirty disciplines, sports, leisure, disabled sports, health sports: all run by local associations and clubs. “The goal is to do ten sports, more would be great, but it will already be good,” says Léo, 10 years old, red with pleasure after playing acrobats in the trees. I had never tried climbing like that hanging in the air, it was very good. »

And many of them had this impression this Sunday on the banks of Vienna sweating for a good cause.
