“We made this choice on the occasion of the eightieth anniversary of the Liberation, justifies Jeanine Barbotin, municipal assistant in charge of events and major demonstrations. The musical programming of the fireworks will support this theme, and around ten French singers will sing on this occasion.
For twenty minutes, after 11 p.m., the Niort sky will light up above the Place de la Brèche, before the resumption of the grand popular ball, hosted by the Rochelais Gil Saint-Laurent orchestra from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., then from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Last year, the Mékicé Deluxe orchestra hosted the popular ball. The task will fall to the Gil Saint-Laurent orchestra in 2024.

July 13 Parade
