Withdrawals against the RN: the New Popular Front asks the president of the LR of Allier to take a position

In the game between the two rounds of these early legislative elections of withdrawals against the National Rally, the authorities of the New Popular Front of Allier are putting pressure on Nicolas Ray, departmental president of the LR.

“It is up to the LR candidate who came in third place to withdraw his candidacy and to call in all clarity to defeat the extreme right.” In a press release dated July 2, the authorities of the New Popular Front called on the departmental president of the Republicans to take a position on the question of withdrawals from the National Rally, a few hours before the deadline for submitting candidacies for the second round of these early legislative elections.

The authors of this letter raise the question more specifically in the 2nd constituency of Allier, where the Montluçon elected official Romain Lefebvre, who came in third place (19.67% of the vote), intends to maintain himself in an unprecedented three-way race against Jorys Bovet (34.33%) and the LFI Louise Héritier (24.06%). “She is in a position to bring down the RN MP,” they write.

In Allier, candidates take out their calculators before the second round

A calculation that Romain Lefebvre, also the departmental secretary of the LR, refutes, who considers himself best placed to win thanks to his support. Including that of the MoDem Laurence Vanceunebrock, who came fourth (12.57%) and who calls for a vote for him.

“Republican Arc”

The document also looks at the case of the first constituency, where RN candidate Anne-Marie Thès is ten points ahead of her competitor, also from the NFP. “It is also up to you to call for voting with the only ballot of the Republican arc, that of the outgoing deputy Yannick Monnet.”

And the authors of this letter recall the withdrawal of the NFP candidate in the third constituency, the one where the outgoing MP is running: “In responsibility, the choice was made to withdraw to block the National Rally and call on left-wing and environmentalist voters to use your ballot to do so”. Contacted, Nicolas Ray has not yet responded to this letter.

Before the second round, which candidates support the main elected officials of Allier?
