Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron voted at Le Touquet

Dressed in a navy blue suit and accompanied by his wife, Emmanuel Macron greeted the few supporters who were waiting for him in front of his polling station in Le Touquet, in Pas-de-Calais, this Sunday, June 30, before locking himself in a few seconds in the voting booth, armed with several ballots. The Head of State then greeted the assessors at length before slipping his envelope into the ballot box. When he left, a new series of handshakes with the inhabitants of this town where the participation rate reached 40% at midday awaited him.

The Head of State created a surprise by announcing the dissolution of the National Assembly and the organization of early legislative elections on June 30 and July 7 in response to the victory of the National Rally during the European elections, on Sunday June 9 in the evening. An initiative which gave rise to a widely mobilizing flash campaign since the participation rate was 25.9% at noon, compared to 18.43% during the last legislative elections, in 2022.

A northern weekend

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron spent their weekend in Le Touquet, where the First Lady has a house. Yesterday morning, the president and his wife were seen at the beach bar Le Sand, then on the streets of the famous seaside resort in a surprising look. Both had adopted dark slim jeans. Topped with a leather jacket, black sneakers and cap, as well as a scarf in blue tones for the head of state. And a denim jacket by Yves Saint-Laurent for the First Lady. An outing that caught the eye of photographers.
