This Tuesday, July 2, 2024, a few hours before the submission of the lists to the prefecture for the 2nd round of this Sunday, July 7, and while she had initially decided to stay, she announced her withdrawal. Reached by telephone, Dominique Faure explains to us : “Playing as a team is in my nature. I am not making this decision reluctantly.”
By text message she had told us a few minutes earlier: “The fight, particularly against the RN, has always been my compass. Continuing the fight was also recognizing and thanking the exceptional dedication of all those who helped me during the campaign: guaranteeing my loyalty to those who supported me and anticipating the challenges to come. In the context of the national context, the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister asked me to withdraw my candidacy in the second round. With total confidence in their approaches to find solutions for the benefit of our country which finds itself in a very difficult situation, I am doing so today responsibly.”
